Dr Azra Naseem is a qualified Gynaecologist and Obstetrician. She has wide range of experiences in all areas of Gynaecological practice.
She believes in empowering women to take control of their health care needs and offers a wide range of medical and surgical options as well as alternative therapies for a healthier you.
Azra provides all Obstetrics and general Gynaecological services including, but not limited to:
- Contraceptive and infertility advice
- Abnormal periods
- Pelvic pain, endometriosis & Fibroids
- Abnormal pap smears and Colposcopy service
- Management of prolapse & minimally invasive surgery are areas of special interest for her.
- Antenatal care
- Birthing services . She is currently doing the births in Maitland Hospital.
She takes pride in her prolapse surgery skills and has more than two decades of experience in prolapse surgery without the use of mesh and has gained excellent results with outstanding surgical outcomes.
She has furthered her knowledge and skills in the field and has acquired Master’s degree in minimally invasive surgery. This added expertise has allowed her to not only perform exceptional surgeries, but has also equipped her with the know how’s of what is needed and is best for women. This includes her Laparoscopic, Vaginal, Hysteroscopy and Robotic surgeries.
She has worked as Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology for more than a decade, both overseas and in Australia and this has given her more insight into women’s health issues. She is a Senior Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Maitland hospital.
Azra has a passion for teaching. She is a training supervisor for RANZCOG specialist trainees, GP trainees, and holds a university position for student teaching with the University of Newcastle.
